Microspace Communications Teams
with BEVision to Deliver
Digital
Signage Content to Beverage Retailers
Raleigh, NC (March 15, 2005)
-Microspace Communications Corporation
(Microspace), the leading provider of point-to-multipoint
satellite services, today announced that Kyle Private Networks,
LLC (“KPN”) has selected its VELOCITY® satellite
solution to deliver point-of-purchase programming and advertising
to over 500 retail stores nationwide on the BEVision in-store
television network. BEVision provides programming for the
beer, wine, and spirits retailer, advertiser, and consumer.
KPN, based in Miramar, FL., expects to extend the network
to over 3,000 stores by mid-2006.
“The ability to regularly update programming content
in real-time from a single location is a tremendous competitive
advantage,” said KPN President John N. Kyle, II. “Now,
with VELOCITY, we can target more dynamic content to specific
locations, increasing our return on investment. This capability,
coupled with VELOCITY’s reliability and scalability,
make
Microspace
the obvious choice for delivering our digital signage applications.”
BEVision programming includes short entertaining
segments
featuring such topics as wine pairing, the latest drink trends,
party
tips,
trivia, plus exclusive BEVision "Pour It
On" infotainment segments and more. Programming is updated
weekly
and
reaches over 33 million consumers on an annual basis.
“BEVision’s content is both informative and
entertaining and appeals to customers at all levels. The
advertising encourages people to try new products, and Microspace’s
satellite feed means we never have to worry about outages
or service,” said Jim Valenty, owner of Pasadena Liquors,
Pasadena, Florida. “I see the network in action when
customers
ask
me questions about products they have seen featured on the
network, and this happens quite often.”
VELOCITY, Microspace’s high-speed
video,
data and audio broadcasting service, provides an optimum
solution
for
businesses
requiring economical and reliable content delivery from one
to multiple locations. Compared to terrestrial
solutions,
VELOCITY
is quicker, easier and less expensive to
implement.
“VELOCITY’s ability to deliver BEVision’s
digital signage content quickly, consistently, and economically
has been key to BEVision’s rapid and continued growth,” said
Joe Amor, Microspace vice president and general manager. “We
look
forward to working with BEVision and additional digital signage
networks to further expand this exciting technology.”
