Microspace Signs Multi-Year Contract with Christian Radio Consortium for Satellite Programming Delivery

VELOCITY® satellite solution offers price, quality and service advantages

Raleigh, NC (August 16, 2004) – Microspace Communications Corporation (Microspace), the leading provider of point-to-multipoint satellite services and the operator of the largest business satellite network in the world, today announced that it has been selected by the Christian Radio Consortium (CRC) to deliver programming to more than 1000 radio stations nationwide via Microspace’s VELOCITY® satellite system.

Under the terms of the multi-year contract, Microspace will distribute radio programming for CRC member organizations, including Ambassador Inspirational Radio, Focus Satellite Network, Moody Broadcasting Network, Salem Radio Network, SkyLight Satellite Network, USA Radio Network and VCY America. CRC is a partnership of organizations collaborating to develop a common solution for distributing Christian radio programming while minimizing the need for radio stations to adopt costly new technologies. The group has been using a common satellite-based system for five years, having developed a standard platform now in use by all members.

“Microspace provided competitive pricing while committing to a high degree of customer care, which we are already experiencing from them,” said Jim Sanders, vice president of technology, with CRC member Ambassador Inspirational Radio. “They were consistently sensitive to our needs and willing to adapt, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to the relationship.”

Microspace is working with the CRC to ensure a seamless transfer of its current satellite-delivered services, according to Joe Amor, Microspace vice president and general manager.

“The CRC requires that Microspace provide cost effective, high quality delivery of its programming to radio stations,” said Amor. “They also want the future flexibility to expand services without jeopardizing quality of service or affordability. This makes our VELOCITY solution the perfect medium for content distribution, since it enables growth without additional investment in infrastructure.”

VELOCITY will help the CRC to broaden its programming reach and strengthen and diversify its nationwide customer base. The transition to the Microspace network is expected to be complete no later than March 2005.
