Microspace Communications’ Expert Resource Network Links Broadcasters to Thousands of New Experts

Network Includes Subject Matter Experts from Top-Tier Universities and Leading Corporations

Raleigh, NC – May 30, 2007 – Microspace Communications Corporation (Microspace), a leading satellite services provider, today announced that its Expert Resource Network (ERN) has expanded significantly to include thousands of experts from leading universities and corporations.

ERN enables broadcast and cable networks seeking subject matter experts to connect remotely, via satellite or fiber feeds, with corporate executives and faculty at top universities such as Duke, Wake Forest, North Carolina State University and campuses of the University of North Carolina system.

“We’re thrilled with the growth of the Expert Resource Network,” said Joe Amor, Microspace general manager. “We launched the network as a one-stop-shop for national broadcasters to secure expert resources, and it’s grown into one of the most extensive networks available to media and continues to expand.”

When Anthony Atala, M.D., a leading stem cell researcher and director of the Institute for Regenerative Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, announced the discovery of a new, readily available source of stem cells, national news networks including NBC, CBS and Fox News used ERN and Microspace’s satellite services to secure on-air expert briefings.

Thousands of subject matter experts in financial services, medicine, politics, environmental protection, and economic and social development, among other fields, are now available through ERN. In addition to those previously mentioned, other participating institutions include Duke Medical Center, East Carolina University and Medical Center, Elon University and North Carolina A &T State University.

Used by news outlets such as Fox News, Bloomberg, CNN, ABC and MSNBC, ERN is a time-saving and cost-efficient service that streamlines the liveshot production process for news producers in media markets nationwide. To locate and secure a subject matter expert, visit the ERN portal at www.microspace.com/ern/ern_index.shtml or contact Bonnie Southard at (919) 850-4500.
